Our San Francisco Independent Living Skills Program (ILSP) hosted their annual graduation celebration on June 6th at the Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf! Fourteen youth attended the celebration in person, and we had an additional seven graduates who were unable to attend. The evening was filled with warmth, laughter, great food and lively dancing. A big thank you to our youth speaker, Esme, for sharing their inspiring story of overcoming barriers and achieving their goal of graduation to set an example for their younger brother.
We are grateful to our guest speaker, Delrisha White, a former foster youth herself, for her words of wisdom and for sharing her personal experience to help our youth realize all that is attainable for them! We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners at the San Francisco Unified School District for their continued support and collaboration in serving our youth. It was wonderful to see many of the dedicated social workers in attendance. Finally, we thank Senator Scott Wiener for his continued advocacy for foster youth!
As you recognize the graduates in your life, please join us in celebrating the inspiring foster youth in our community. Throughout June, we will host graduation celebrations across our programs, and for some, this may be the only recognition of their hard work. Your support will allow us to provide impactful community-building events and celebrate these accomplishments!
