Tina Sachs

Chief Financial Officer

Tina Sachs serves as Chief Financial Officer at First Place for Youth, bringing more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience and a deep commitment to mission‑driven work. A proud Bay Area resident, Tina is known for pairing strong financial strategy with values‑aligned leadership to support organizational growth and impact.

Tina began her career at Deloitte, where she advised major nonprofit clients including the Jewish Community Foundation and the Kaiser Family Foundation. She went on to dedicate her career fully to the nonprofit sector, serving as Controller at the Jewish Community Foundation and helping steward a complex organization with more than $1 billion in assets under management.

Tina served at the KIPP Foundation, where she led Finance, Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Office Operations, and Event Services. During her tenure, KIPP experienced significant growth, expanding from an $18 million to a $67 million organization. Tina partnered closely with development teams, worked directly with donors and government leaders, and played a key role in securing a transformational $50 million U.S. Department of Education grant.  Tina went on to serve at Khan Academy helping the organization scale, growing both number of users and the countries in which it operates. She most recently worked at PlayCV, Inc and an afterschool enrichment organization supporting quality programming with significant growth in the number of students served across 11 schools.

A builder at heart, Tina brings expertise in managing growth, complexity, and accountability while fostering strong partnerships across teams. She is passionate about aligning financial excellence with bold mission delivery and is excited to support First Place for Youth as it enters its next chapter of growth and impact.
