As the Director of Development, Sheigla shapes, plans, and implements First Place’s fundraising strategy. She oversees the organization’s portfolio of national and statewide funders, as well as the stewardship of major donors, and provides support on individual donor fundraising. She previously served as Grants Manager, helping First Place to expand and deepen its partnerships with local, statewide, and national funders.

Prior to First Place, Sheigla worked as a Research Analyst at Institute for Scientific Analysis, a nonprofit dedicated to the study of social problems and the application of research findings in the service of solutions to those problems. She has an MA in English and American Literature from Boston University and BA’s in Anthropology and Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
