First Place for Youth
Jun 25, 2014
Hannah DeGorio entered foster care at the age of just 3, after suffering family abuse. She spent much of her childhood shuttling from one foster parent to another without ever finding a loving, permanent home. As her 18th birthday approached, she knew she would soon need to live on her own. She was nervous and scared, feeling like the ground was falling out from under her.
Fortunately, she found First Place for Youth. With our help, Hannah moved into an apartment with a First Place roommate. Our dedicated staff helped her find work and complete her high school diploma. She knows she has a First Place team committed to standing by her and guiding her as she learns to live independently. Hannah is well on her way to becoming a productive, responsible adult.
