A Summer of Growth and Exploration with Summer Bridge!

Summer Bridge is back in session! Over the past six weeks, our summer program has provided young people with incredible opportunities to learn new skills, explore exciting career paths, embark on thrilling field trips, and stay connected throughout the summer. Let’s dive into the highlights from a few of our six county service areas:

In Alameda County, our enthusiastic youth and staff embarked on an inspiring trip to the UC Davis campus! A full day of exploration and engagement left our young participants feeling invigorated about the possibilities of pursuing higher education at a prestigious university.

In Los Angeles, our youth and staff visited the Arroyo Seco Regional Branch Library to learn about all the different services offered by the library. With the help of a friendly library docent, our youth and team toured the library grounds and learned about upcoming programs and events at the library including arts and crafts, cultural enrichment, and book clubs.

Our Santa Clara County youth enjoyed the best of both worlds! They soaked up the summer sun at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and explored a variety of promising careers that require no degrees at our San Jose office.

“This Summer Bridge has been different from the previous years,” said Aidole Arteaga, SCC Education & Employment Specialist. “We’ve had a very good balance of work and play, and I think that balance is necessary. We’re teaching them that it’s possible to have a good work-life balance or school-life balance.”

While this summer is still in full swing, our Back-to-School Supply Drive is rapidly approaching, and we need your support! In August, our state-wide team will conclude the Summer Bridge program with a back-to-school celebration for our youth to receive supplies for the upcoming school year.

You can make a significant difference by contributing to our Amazon Wishlists before July 31. Let’s equip these young minds with the tools they need to confidently embrace their academic journey!

Summer Bridge has been a transformative journey for our young participants, opening doors to endless possibilities, and fostering a thirst for knowledge. Thank you to our amazing team across the state for organizing these events and making sure our young people have opportunities to stay connected!
