San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee dropped by to welcome Charisma to her new apartment at 11oo Ocean Avenue, a brand new affordable housing complex built and managed by Mercy Housing.
Staff from First Place’s Independent Living Skills program in San Francisco helped Charisma apply for one of the 25 units that Mercy Housing has set aside for foster and homeless youth ages 18-24. First Place has contracted with Mercy Housing to provide onsite case management and education and employment counseling to all young people in the complex.
Charisma will be able to take the next steps in her journey to independence secure in the knowledge that she has continued support.
