First Place for Youth is seeking a dynamic social service professional who enjoys working with youth and supporting permanency in the lives of former foster youth. The selected candidate will work closely with the Education and Employment Coordinator of Solano County to develop strong partnerships with local employment service agencies and the business community to develop employment opportunities for youth that are both appropriate and meaningful. Equally, the specialist will partner with local community colleges, 4-year colleges and vocational schools to promote education and career advancement among our youth population. The Specialist provides targeted educational and employment support to young adults who are preparing to transition out of foster care or who have recently left the foster care system.
The job developer creates employment opportunities for youth by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with local businesses and organizations that are potential employers of First Place for Youth clients. The Job Developer will work closely with the Manager of Education and Employment Services for the state headquarters of First Place for Youth. The Job Developer is responsible for creating promotional materials for employment and education programming to outreach to and recruit community members in order to expand the pool ofappropriate job placements for youth. This position is dedicated to managing external employer relationships.

JOB SUMMARY: First Place for Youth is seeking a dynamic professional who enjoys working with youth and supporting permanency in the lives of young people. The selected candidate will work closely with the Housing Manager to identify apartments to house emancipated foster youth living in Contra Costa and Solano Counties. The Specialist is responsible for overseeing leasing procedures, property maintenance, youth moves and rent payments, and landlord communication.

JOB SUMMARY: First Place for Youth is seeking an energetic social service professional who enjoys working with youth for the position of Youth Advocate. The selected candidates will work closely with 15 - 17 youth, ages 17 to 24, who have “emancipated” from the foster care system and are participating in a supported housing program.
